Dr. Janine Lex

 DC, IFMCP, LPA

Dr. Lex earned her doctorate of Chiropractic in 1984, and became certified to practice acupuncture in the early nineties. For structural and pain syndromes the weaving of acupuncture, structural integration and good food advice have made her approach unique and much sought after by those who have not found relief elsewhere.

Dr. Lex is a professional member of the Institute for Functional Medicine. She has lectured extensively about the new paradigm of body/mind medicine. A former community-based professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Dr. Lex has taught medical students all about natural, holistic and integrated medicine.  She continues to research and educate herself and others through The Institute for Functional Medicine and Postural Restoration Institute.

Through the lens of functional medicine, Dr. Lex provides relief to many patients by supporting their natural healing response. Her clientele includes infants, children, adults and seniors.

Becca Fitzpatrick

RN, Nutrition Consultant 
Becca calls the Chesapeake Bay her home; having the pleasure of growing up in Virginia Beach. Raised in a very health-conscious family, it was hard not to fall in love with a healthy lifestyle and cooking. Since she’s so active year-round, participating in triathlons and working as a Surf Rescue Lifeguard, Becca constantly researches the best ways to fuel her body with proper nutrients to stay energized and feel best during her races and at her job.
Her knowledge and passion for a healthy lifestyle is always growing, and she is excited to help others achieve a more balanced and healthier lifestyle by making sustainable changes to achieve their individual goals.

Becca loves to cook, and her kitchen creations result from her belief in the power of whole food nutrition. Food is information and has a strong impact on our energy, mood, brain, gut health, and overall function. She loves to experiment and share recipes that are both delicious and satisfying. Not only are they easy to follow, but they will leave you feeling fueled with goodness and energy to tackle any obstacle!

She graduated in 2017 from James Madison University with her B.S.N.and now works as a Nutrition Consultant and Registered Nurse. She firmly believes food is medicine and has the power to heal. One of her favorite quotes is from Hippocrates: “Let thy food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Becca gives regular educational classes for Vitality Functional Medicine, and she very much looks forward to taking an adventure with you in well-being!

Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease as opposed to the traditional approach of treating the symptom.  In the functional medicine model, practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease.
